Jest to przerażająco śmieszne studium naszego strachu przed byciem pochowanym żywcem i osobliwego dziewiętnastowiecznego fenomenu „czekających kostnic”. To interaktywne przedstawienie w mikroskali jest pełne przerażających odkryć dla publiczności. Odgrywane na blacie i skonstruowane całkowicie z pudełek od zapałek korzysta z niezwykłych możliwości, jakie dają te maluteńkie sceny. Obrazy i postacie wysuwają się, ślizgają, wyskakują i wypadają z pudełek po zapałkach – a oparte są na faktach historycznych i medycznych. XIX wiek przywoływany jest za pomocą kolażu, wycinanek, malunków i przetworzonych materiałów; ten spektakl jest kreatywnie anachroniczny i igra ze skalą. W końcu przenosi nas z powrotem do teraźniejszości.
Intrygujący, histeryczny, maluteńki i bardzo makabryczny.
This is a frightfully funny exploration of our fear of being buried alive, and the curious phenomenon of 19th Century „waiting mortuaries”. Tiny and interactive, it is full of dreadful discoveries for a limited audience. Performed on a tabletop and constructed entirely in and of matchboxes, it takes advantage of the unique qualities of these tiny stages. Images and characters slide out, slide through, pop up, and drop out of matchboxes. Based on historical and medical facts. The Nineteenth Century is evoked, using collage, cut outs, painting, and recycled materials; this show is creatively anachronistic and plays with scale. In the end it brings us forward into the present.
