Mały cyrk to dźwiękowe zestawienie przedmiotów zrobionych z drewna, plastiku, nici, sprężyn i szkła. Każdy oddech może wprawić je w drżenie. Dwanaście małych mikrofonów nagłaśnia spektakl od środka. Animacja Małego cyrku jest ryzykowna, cały czas towarzyszy jej bowiem niebezpieczeństwo pomyłki.
Ten cyrk dźwięków staje się musicalem, a zarazem teatrem przedmiotu tysiąca różności, gadżetów za dwa grosze. Akcja podsyca dźwięk, a dźwięk wydobywa akcję.
Jako teatr dźwięczących przedmiotów, Mały cyrk rozwija dwie odmienne logiki, które stale przenikają się wzajemnie.
With le petit cirque, electro-acoustic musician Laurent Bigot creates an installation evocative of a circus ring, upon which he sets objects and toys into motion. The frictions and vibrations created by these movements are picked up by microphones and diffused without any special effects. Sound guides each of his actions. Le Petit Cirque is a sonorous complex object, made of wood, plastic, threads, springs and fragility. A breath can set it vibrating. Twelve small mikes take multiple resources from its very heart. Le Petit Cirque is a circus. Its handling is perilous, danger of falling is always present.
Le Petit Cirque is a sonorous circus, as theater can be musical. It is a theater of objects too.
Le Petit Cirque, all made of odds and ends, two pennies gadgets, is not for all that based upon anecdote. From scenic data emerges sound. Action nourishes sound and sound diverts action... improvisation, chance of mechanics...
As a theater of sonorous objects, le Petit Cirque develops two distinct logics, which interfere one with another.
