Tworzy to obraz rajskich ptaków, ziół i drzew, starożytnych symboli i elementów, niewiast, bogów, demonów i bohaterów. Są oni powołani do życia poprzez śpiewanie starych pieśni, lamentacji i kołysanek z całego świata. Druga część, zwana Piaskowym alfabetem, opowiada historię narodzin liter z biblijnego pisma obrazkowego na piasku.
In his childhood, the creator of the performance once saw a chapel dome of an ancient church that sank in the Ladoga lake. The dome was looking out of the water, the sun was shining through the surface of the lake, illuminating the temple’s walls with its frescoes partly washed away from them. Many years later, those frescoes were revived in shadow puppets for the performance Mary’s dreams or Sand alphabet. The performance consists of two parts. The first part shows The Birth of the World. It is showed by projecting silhouettes of fragments of colored glass and lines on a sail. They make visions of birds of paradise, herbs and trees, ancient symbols, elements, maids, gods, demons and heroes. They are followed by live singing of old chants, lamentations and lullabies of the world. The second part named The Sand Alphabet presents the story of the letters’ birth through biblical writs in images on the sand.
